Garage Kits Below is a listing of commercial releases of Patlabor Japanese garage kits. Garage kits are usually made of plastic resin or soft vinyl and where originally a cottage industry made by small kit manufacturers who made them in in backyard sheds or garages, hence the name garage kits. They are generally produced in very limited numbers and are considered to be for the more advanced modeller. Please Note: I'm not a model kit maker as such, and I've had great difficulty trying to compile this list as some of these kits are over 20 years old, and generally research material has been limited to old hobby magazines and other off-line sources (I can't believe there isn't some sort of online Japanese database for this stuff!).
